Scott Edwin Craig, 61, of Granite Falls, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, April 11, 2025 at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.

Scott was born on December 15, 1963 in Burke County, a son of Lillian Adkins Craig and the late Wayne Edwin Craig.

Scott loved the outdoors. He enjoyed hiking, off-roading, and working on his 1971 Ford Bronco. His sense of humor was a surprise to most because he was naturally an introvert. He loved telling corny Dad jokes and watching comedies like Monty Python or Gene Wilder movies. He was committed to those he loved and took his responsibilities seriously.

Deteriorating health issues have made the last few years difficult for Scott. His wife, family, and friends are heartbroken by his loss. They find solace in knowing that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.

In addition to his father, he is preceded in passing by his grandparents, Drew and Lillie Adkins and Floyd and Carolyn Craig.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Wendy Mosteller Craig; mother, Lillian Angie Craig; sisters, Pam Walker (Tony) and Tammy Reese (Marty); aunts, Wanda Heffner (Johnny) and Mildred Hall (Terry); nephews, Matt Walker (Jessica), Dustin Walker, Chris Reese (Megan), and Dalton Reese (Courtney); one grandnephew; two grandnieces; in-laws, Pam Graves (Steve) and Steve Mosteller; and numerous cousins.

A private inurnment will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hickory Soup Kitchen at hickorysoupkitchen.org or to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation at cff.org/donate.

Heritage Funeral Service and Crematory is assisting the family.
