Roy McCampbell, Jr., 89, of Valdese, passed away on Sunday April 27, 2025, at Wendover Hospice House, Shelby, after a period of declining health.
Mr. McCampbell was born September 13, 1935, in Buncombe County, a son of the late Roy and Maude Alice House McCampbell, Sr. He attended Calvary Freewill Baptist Church and retired as a NC State Trooper/City officer after many years of service. Roy Served his country as a veteran of the US Air Force.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Sara Bishop and Betty Marshall.
Surviving is his sister, Mary Cline of TN and niece, Mary (Barbi) Marshall of Charlotte, NC.
Graveside Services for Roy McCampbell will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday April 30. 2025 in the Hillcrest Cemetery, Parley St. Valdese, with Rev. Freddy Lindsey officiating.
