Randy Eugene Ervin, 64, of Hudson, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 28, 2023 at his home following a period of declining of health.
Randy was born September 24, 1958 in Catawba County to the late Boyce Ervin and Bobbie Bean Ervin. He worked as a truck driver for many years and made friends easily with anyone. Randy was quick witted and had a great sense of humor. In his spare time he loved mowing his grass and being outdoors and buying, repairing, and selling muscle cars.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents; brother, Mike Ervin; best friend, Dennis Johnson; and his beloved dog Patches.
He is survived by his wife Sherry Cooke Ervin; son, William Ervin and wife Paula; grandson, Jake Ervin; sister, Gail Greene; brother, Alan Ervin and wife Paula; uncle, Roger Ervin and wife Cricket; his faithful dog Raja; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, and cousins.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 1, 2023 at 6:00 PM in the Chapel of Heritage Funeral Service with Rev. David Bean officiating.
The family will receive friends on Friday prior to the service from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Service.
Heritage Funeral Service and Crematory in Valdese is assisting the family.
He will be greatly missed. A wonderful neighbor and a great friend.

I met Randy in 2013 and immediately had a friend. He was so laid back and easy going. He had no problem speaking his mind and was candid but always respectful and friendly. Never seen him without a smile and always had something funny to talk about. He was quick to lend a hand or just sit and chat if you had something on your mind. I am honored to have been considered a friend and to have gotten to know him. He will be missed and surly never forgotten. Someone like Randy the memories never fades. RIP my friend
