Mrs. Lucy Carolyn Zimmerman Mull, 77, of Hickory, passed away on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at Amorem, Burke Hospice, after a period of declining health.
Lucy was born October 29, 1946, in Burke County, a daughter of the late Ellis and Margaret Jones Zimmerman. She retired as a High School teacher with the Gaston County School Board.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Danny Mull, brother, Johnny Zimmerman, Jr. and a sister, Margaret Edwards.
Surviving are her brother, Charles “Chuck” Zimmerman of Morganton, a sister, Pam Berry and husband, Selwyn of Drexel and a number of nieces and nephews.
At her request, there will not be a service at this time.

I know you are at peace now, and am happy for you! Just know I have enjoyed our lifelong friendship and know I will miss our birthday “celebrations” each year, but I will still send a wish to you every Oct. 29!

I was deeply saddened by the news of Lucy’s passing. The last time I saw Lucy, she and I were at the graveside of another VHS Class of ‘65 friend. Little did we realize it would be the last time we would see each other.
May God be near the family and give them strength and peace during this sad time.
