Journey Lyvan Nelson Littlejohn, 77, of Hudson, passed away on Thursday, May 1, 2025 at Frye Regional Medical Center following a period of declining health.
Journey was born April 24, 1948, in Caldwell County to the late Lawrence Nelson and Ruth Trivette Nelson. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Lenoir and loved going to church, reading her bible, and listening to gospel music.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Jack Littlejohn; daughter, Crystal Littlejohn Murphy; brother, Leroy “Roy” Nelson; and sisters, Diane Nelson, and Gwynn Nelson.
She is survived by her son-in-law, James “Jim” Murphy; cousin Frank Trivette; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, May 4, 2025 at 3:00 PM at Faith Baptist Church with Pastor Derek Lingerfelt officiating.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the church prior to the service on Sunday.
Heritage Funeral Service and Crematory in Valdese is assisting the family.
Journey was my friend for thirty-one years. We meet through our daughters. I appreciate her son-in-law, Jim Murphy for stepping up an being her caregiver. Journey is residing with Jesus, and her daughter Crystal. I love my old friend, I will cherish our memories.
Hi Jim. Love you and praying for you. I know that this is hard for you. You kept your promise to your sweet wife Crystal and took great care of her mom.
