Mr. Jonathan Paul Starnes, 57, of Hickory, passed away on Monday December 19, 2022 after a period of declining health.
Mr. Starnes was born March 8, 1965 in Catawba County, a son of the late Clyde Emit and
Thelma Knox Starnes. He attended New Covenant Church of God and worked as a cook at the Salvation Army, before becoming disabled.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Clyde Starnes, Jr.
Surviving are Wife of his heart, Melissa, his son, Matthew Paul Starnes , Special Daughter Macey and sister, Lorie Morgan. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Xander and Mahayla , a niece and nephew and his canine companion and best buddy Taz.
A Service of Remembrance will be held at 6:00 P.M. Tuesday December 27, 2022 in the New Covenant Church of God Activity Center (Advent Crossroads – 1/4 mile from the church) with Bishop Dennis Pitts officiating.

You are loved and missed so much. Through thick and thin, good and bad, we always had each other through the years. Now I’m alone here on earth. If God wasn’t with me to help me, I’m not sure I could make it.
