So sorry for your loss Buck sure did love him
So sad to hear the news of Jackie passing by heart and prayers are with all of his family. We had a lot of fun back around the time of the green monster and for several years after He loved working on that. Green car I remember on time he wrecked it the police report said it was totaled a couple. Of the guys that would hang out over there went over to see him and the first thing out of his mount was go see if. It will crank and we hit the switch and it fired up his next words was that car has heart and we can fix ly sure enough 2 weeks later he was racing again.

It’s Jack (Fatman) Poteet that’s what Jackie always called me
Jackie will be greatly missed, he was so much fun to be around. I worked with Jackie at the City of Morganton Garage and learned a lot from him. Every Friday at lunch time we would ride around town in the Green Monster then he would say let’s go clean the plugs. Then you had better been ready for the ride of your life. I know one thing for sure if they are hot rods in heaven they are fixing to be modified. Take care buddy.
He was such a wonderful friend. We carried so much with everyone. It was a joy to be around. If you were with him you certainly didn’t have to worry about doing a few pranks in Glen Alpine. He was such a blessing and he will be sorely missed . He will certainly be remembered in many hearts.
Kasie I’m so sorry for your loss. I fondly remember you and I playing when we were kids while he and my brother chewed the fat in the garage and your Mom and Teresa working in the salon. Praying for you and your family during this difficult time.
Rest in peace, old Buddy.
Met him around the year 1970 at the city garage, He use to give me a ride home in the Green Monster, I only lived a half mile away, It was a wild ride for that half mile, Going to miss him

To a great man and true friend I love you and will miss you! I enjoyed the times you laid under a car with me and always complained how cold the floor was. I enjoyed setting in basement listening to your raceing stories while we enjoyed the firewood that I brought. I wish I had learned more of your knowledge.
To a great man and true friend you will be missed. I enjoyed the times we had together setting in your basement by the wood stove enjoying the wood I brought talking about those old cars what fun.
