Willard Lee Willix, 67, of Newton, passed away on Monday, April 8, 2024, at Carolina Caring following a brief illness.

Willard was born on January 28, 1957, in Burke County, a son of the late John and Vienna Young Willix.  He loved to hunt and fish.  He often traveled to Burnsville in order to hunt turkeys during the season.

In addition to his parents, Willard is preceded in passing by two brothers, Jimmy and Allan, and three sisters, Doris, Virginia, and Nancy.

Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Elmer Willix and wife Crystal, Joshua Willix, Daniel Willix and wife Rosa, Ashley Dempsey, and Chris Willix; grandchildren, Daniel Willix, Ashton Willix, and Catalina Willis; sisters, Cathy Gross and Rita Willix; brothers, Danny Willix, David Willix, Richard Willix, John Willix, and Larry Willix; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date.
