Mr. Thomas Michael Burleson, 67, of Morganton, passed away on Tuesday, August 22, 2023, at Amorem of Hudson following a period of declining health.
Thomas was born on January 1, 1956, in Avery County, a son of the late Demry Charles Burleson and Inez McKinney Burleson. Thomas loved to race and was an avid fan of Harley’s. His favorite football team was the Washington Redskins, much to his son’s disappointment.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in passing by his brothers, Billie and David Burleson.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Estella Burleson; children, Cedrick Burleson, Chad Burleson and Shanté Holcombe-Taylor; siblings, Phyllis Cook, Susan Poorman, Demry Burleson, Jr., and wife, Wanda, and Richard Burleson and wife, Debbie; eight grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will hold a memorial service at Sunnyside Baptist Church on Old Highway 18 on Saturday, August 26, 2023, at 11:00 AM with Rev. Clint Ewin officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Saturday, August 26, 2023, at Sunnyside Baptist Church from 10 AM to 11 AM.
