Susan Denise Walker Nanney, 54, of Connelly Springs, passed away on Monday, June 3, 2025 at her family residence, following a period of declining health.
Susan was born April 3, 1971 in McDowell County, a daughter of the late Gary Walker, Sr., and Judy Rathburn Walker. She lived her life leading with love for others. She never met a stranger, and she was always willing to help where she saw a need.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in passing by her son, Jordan Nanney, and a granddaughter, Jordiana Icenhour.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Jeff Nanney; daughter, Amanda (Josh) Icenhour; stepson, Christopher Nanney; brother, Gary “Daniel” Walker, Jr.; stepsiblings, Sarah McDaniel, Bryan McDaniel, and Joseph McDaniel; stepmother, Karen Walker; grandchildren, Shiloh Icenhour, Ivar Icenhour, and Ares Icenhour; step grandchildren, Kaylie Nanney and Alex Nanney; niece, Alora “Dannie” Booher; and her fur baby, Sheldon, who was the light of her life, along with numerous distant family and friends.
The family will hold a memorial service at a later date.
Heritage Funeral Service & Crematory is assisting the family.
