Mr. Steven Goodman, 70, of Morganton, passed away on Wednesday December 28, 2022 at his residence after a period of declining health.
Mr. Goodman was born May 14, 1952 in Burke County, a son of the late M.A. and Betty Fox Goodman. Steven retired after many years of employment as a healthcare tech. with Broughton Hospital and J. Iverson Riddle Development Center. He was a loving husband and father and enjoyed spending time with his friends at the Senior Citizens Center in Morganton.
Surviving are his wife, Janice Wyatt Goodman of the home, three sons, Steven Alexander Goodman, Matthew Goodman and Wade Goodman all of Texas, step son, Timothy Clay and step-daughter, Yvonne Ollis both of Morganton. Also surviving are his sisters, Mary Beth Fletcher, Nancy Goodman, Susan Secrest, a special nephew, Jordan Crump, special step-granddaughter, Jessica Karst and a number of grandchildren and step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A Service of Remembrance will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday January 4, 2023 in the Chapel of Heritage Funeral Service with Chaplin Carol Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Forest Hill Cemetery, Morganton.
The Family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Wednesday at Heritage Funeral Service, Valdese.

So sad to see Steve leave us. He was known as Goodie to many of us who went to high school with him, and I have a lot of good memories of playing baseball with his children, and all who loved him.
