Samuel Shane Buchanan, 59, of Morganton, passed away on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at his residence following a period of declining health.
Samuel was born April 6, 1962 in Grants, New Mexico, to Marlene Robinson Buchanan, and the late Phillip Plato Buchanan. He loved spending time with his grandson and fishing.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Kristine Buchanan; daughter, Lana Buchanan; grandson, Phillip Bivens; sisters, Candace Carter and husband Rick, and Venie Singleton and husband David; brother, Dana Buchanan; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 1, 2022 at 3:00 PM at Abees Grove Baptist Church with Pastor Rudy Hayes officiating.
The family will receive friends on Saturday prior to the service from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the church.
