Mrs. Sadie Mae Fox Fowler, 88, of Connelly Springs, NC, left her earthly home for Heaven on Sunday, September 17th, 2023, at College Pines Health and Rehabilitation Center in Connelly Springs, NC., after a period of declining health.
Mrs. Fowler was born in Caldwell County on March 11th, 1935, a daughter of the late Howard Caney Fox, and Rosa Lee Bumgarner Fox. She was a faithful member of Shady Grove United Methodist Church, serving as Church Treasurer for a number of years. Sadie was known for her delicious cinnamon rolls and bread, along with other tasty meals she prepared for family, friends and neighbors over the years. She was a stay-at-home Mother and Homemaker when her children were young and later became a successful Tupperware Manager for 12 years. She worked in the office at Crestline Furniture in Valdese, NC and later was a part-time Bank Teller at BB & T, before retiring in 2001. Sadie was always caring for others, family members, friends and neighbors. She faithfully visited them, whether they were at home or in assisted living/nursing homes/ hospitals. She had a giving spirit and a zest for life. She was a devoted Grandmother, always making time to play and interact with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren as long as she was able. Playing cards, Rook and Canasta, were her favorites; she had a very competitive spirit; laughing and clapping her hands when she won. She and her husband also loved horses and enjoyed riding together along with family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Garoyd “Bud” Fowler, a son, Kenneth William Fowler, her brother J.C. Fox, an infant sister, Frances Marie Fox, and four Great-Grandchildren.
Surviving to cherish her memory are her daughter, Frances Robinson and husband Eddie of Valdese, a sister, Betty Reid (Larry) of Drexel, Nancy Lowman (Bob) of Valdese, Sister-in-law JoAnn Fox of Claremont. Also surviving are her Granddaughters, Chelsey Johnson (Josh) of Connelly Springs, Lesley Robinson of Valdese, and Great-Grandchildren, J.D. Johnson, Houston Johnson, Paisley Johnson, Bristol Johnson, Arkyn Johnson, Juniper Robinson-Denton, Carmela “Mel” McCabe, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 21st, at Shady Grove United Methodist Church, 6908 Oak Ridge Road Connelly Springs, NC 28612, from 3:00 – 4:00 pm; with a Celebration of Life following at 4:00 pm.
Memorials may be made to Shady Grove United Methodist Church, Amorem Burke Hospice, 1721 Enon Road, Valdese, NC 28690, or College Pines Health and Rehabilitation Center, 95 Locust Street Connelly Springs, NC 28612.

I am sorry to know that Mrs. Fowler has passed away. My Mother and I used to visit her at her home and share thoughts from the Bible with her. She loved talking about God’s Word, and we had many wonderful conversations. She was always so nice and always smiling when she would come to the door. I hope all of her Family and friends find comfort from the hope of the Resurrection when they will all get to see her again. (Acts 24:15; John 5:28,29).
