Ryan Lee Childers, 44, of Valdese, passed away unexpectedly as a result of an accident that occurred on Thursday, November 2, 2023, also claiming the life of his wife, Melissa Childers.

Ryan was born August 5, 1979 in Catawba, to the late Arvin Childers and Jean Watson Childers.

In addition to his father, Arvin Childers, he is preceded in death by wife, Melissa Childers; and infant son, Ryder Childers.

He is survived by sons, Joseph Russel Newhart, Ryan Alexander “Alex” Childers and Samuel Dean Childers; mother, Jean Watson Childers; brother, Chris Childers (Glenda); sisters, Melissa Clark and Mitzi Childers; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins who loved him.

A memorial service celebrating the lives of Ryan and Melissa, will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. at Bollinger’s Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. Freddy Williams, Rev. Devin Hildebran and Rev. Steve Pickard officiating. Inurnment will take place in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M., Saturday, November 11, 2023, at Bollinger’s Chapel United Methodist Church.
