Roy Shane Epps, 58, of Granite Falls, passed away on Saturday, October 12, 2024 at Atrium Health Wake Forest.

Shane was born August 11, 1966 in Burke County to the late Earl Franklin Epps Jr, and Rebecca Conley Epps. He pastored Lakeview Baptist Church, where he enjoyed playing his cajon drum and singing; and he worked in the furniture business as a service representative. Shane dearly loved his family, church members, and friends. He loved the Carolina Panthers and trying new foods; but most of all he loved playing with his grandson. Shane had a calming presence to others around him and always reassured everyone that God was always in control and not to worry. He was loved by many people and will be missed dearly.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Ronald Scott Epps.

He is survived by his wife of 37 ½ years, Julie Safford Epps; son, Zac Epps and partner Melanie Davis; daughters, Cortney Smith and husband Zach; Sydney Epps Huffman and husband Dalton; grandson, Hayes Huffman; and cousins, Shonda Epps Page, and Stephanie Epps Harris. Also surviving is his aunt, Michelle Epps; father-in-law, William Bill Safford; and brother-in-law, Billy Safford and wife Tracey.
