Mr. Robbie Pless Cook, 89, of Valdese, passed away at Autumn Care of Drexel on Friday, September 15, 2023, after a period of declining health.
Mr. Cook was born in Burke County on July 25, 1934, a son of the late Pless and Ruth Deal Cook. He served his country honorably in the United States Army. He was an avid fan of the Carolina Tarheels.
In addition to his parents, Robbie is preceded in passing by a great-grandson, Winston Cook.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Betty Carswell Cook of the home; one son, Ricky Lynn Cook (Faye) of Hildebran, NC; one daughter, Robin Lynette Chester (Randy) of Valdese, NC; seven grandchildren, Haley Skerjanec (Scott), Ben Cook (Laura), James Cook (Kansas), Tyler Cook (Mindy), Emily Propst (Adam), Sarah Chester, and Marcus Chester; and seven greatgrandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, September 21, 2023 at 5 PM at River of Life Church with Rev. Allen King officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at River of Life from 4 PM to 5 PM.

Uncle Robbie will always be remembered for his kindness and humor. I was very fortunate to live beside him as a child. I was always welcome and loved. I’m sure he is happy and healthy with our Lord now. Love and hugs to all the family.
We are praying for all the family. He left a wonderful legacy and now is with the ONE he loved. Praying for Gods grace, peace and comfort in the days ahead.

No words can express the sadness we feel for this loss of this wonderful Christian Husband, father, grandfather, uncle to so many that knew him.
