Mr. Ricky Lee “Lurch” Hagy, 65, of Morganton, passed away on Monday August 14, 2023, at Carepartner’s Hospice Solace, Asheville, NC, after a period of declining health.

Mr. Hagy was born November 22, 1957, in Drundy, VA, a son of the late Lawrence Lee and Peggy Lou Sisk Hagy.  Ricky attended the First Presbyterian Church of Newton and retied as a machine operator in the furniture manufacturing industry.  He served his country proudly as a member of the US Army.

Surviving are his life partner, Ocie Childers of the home, his brother, Larry Wayne Hagy, and three sisters, Deborah Lynn Caudill (Don), Tamrah Lou Hagy, Rebecca Elizabeth Hudson (Matthew) and Angelia Ann Davis (Dr. Douglas).

A Service of Celebration will be held  Thursday August 24, 2023 at 1:00 P.M. in the First Presbyterian Church, Newton, N.C. with Rev. David Roquemore officiating.

The Remains will be Entombed in the Western North Carolina Veterans Cemetery, Black Mountain.
