Mrs. Regina “Gina” Rice Arensman, 83, of Valdese, passed away on Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at Frye Regional Medical Center.
Gina was born on September 11, 1941 in Saline County. IL, to the late James Marion Rice and Minnie Fritts Rice. She was a member of Faith Presbyterian Church in Morganton, and was loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and homemaker.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Sharmaine Skinner and Sandra Bonnette.
Surviving is her beloved husband, James William Arensman of the home, and her three sons, Dr. Todd Arensman and wife Ruth of Valdese, Monty Arensman and wife Michelle of Wake Forest, and Scott Arensman and wife Sarah of Concord. Also surviving are 18 grandchildren: Zachary Arensman, Allison Lancaster and husband Liam, Emily Bailey and husband Johnny, Hannah Warner and husband Caleb, Katie Harper and husband Matthew, James Arensman, Jonathan Arensman, Nathan Arensman, Abigail Arensman, Meredith Saling and husband Kyle, Kaitlyn Arensman, Benjamin Arensman, Elizabeth Layman and husband Ryan, T.J. Arensman and wife Morgan, Kimberly Arensman, Rebekah Brooks and husband Trip, Miriam Arensman and Cody Arensman, and six great-grandchildren, Andrew Harper, Titus Warner, Rose Layman, Ezra Layman, Ivy Jo Layman and William Arensman.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2025 at 11:30 A.M. at Faith Presbyterian Church in Morganton, with Pastor Mike Thompson officiating. Interment will follow at the Raleigh Memorial Park at a later date.
A reception will follow the service in the church fellowship hall.

As a child, I grew up in the neighborhood with the Arensman family. Gina Arensman’s three sons were some of my closest friends ever. And Mr. and Mrs. Arensman were always like having an additional set of parents to me. Both of them always loving and caring. I will miss Mrs. Arensman immensely. My condolences to Todd, Monty, Scott, and to Mr. Bill Arensman. How beautiful to know that Gina is now in the company of angels and Christ himself.
Praying Bill, Todd, Monty, Scott, and the entire Arensman family experience God’s nearness during this time and that they receive comfort from knowing Gina is in the presence of her Lord. May they also find joy in their memories of a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

So sad to learn this. I was her hairdresser and just loved her. She was so kind and so loved. She spoke about her family often and loved them greatly. She will be greatly missed.
