Rebecca “Becky” Maynard Sherrill, born on April 22, 1954, in Connelly Springs, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on November 22, 2024. Known for her warmth, resilience, and devotion to family, Becky touched the lives of everyone she met, leaving a legacy of kindness and compassion that will be cherished by all who knew her.
Becky was predeceased by her beloved husband, Stephen “Steve” Sherrill, with whom she shared many years of love and companionship. She is survived by her loving children, Lindsay Sherrill and Jeremy Grainger and his wife, Joy Grainger, who were her pride and joy. She was also a devoted grandmother to her four grandchildren: Savannah Sherrill, Keifer Grainger, Hope Grainger, and Will Bowen. Becky’s inspirational and warm-hearted nature created a special bond with each of them. She loved sharing fashion talks with Savannah, sparking creativity and fun, and always encouraged her grandchildren to pursue their dreams with confidence. Her presence brought comfort, laughter, and guidance, leaving behind cherished memories that will be treasured forever.
Becky is also lovingly remembered by her brother, Mack Maynard and his wife, Lori Maynard, and their daughter, Michelle Maynard; her sister, Debbie Brittain, and her son, Regi Brittain and his wife, Karen Brittain. She shared a lifelong bond of friendship and support with her best friend, Denise Turner, who was like a sister to her. Becky’s fierce spirit, unwavering determination, and caring nature extended beyond her immediate family to friends and neighbors alike.
Her life was a testament to strength and kindness, and she will be remembered for her generous heart, infectious smile, and her loyalty to those she loved. Those close to her will always feel her presence, knowing that in times of need, they’ve “got a friend.”
In honoring her life, Becky’s family invites friends and loved ones to join them in a celebration of her life at Friendship UMC on December 7th @ 2:00 – 4:00 pm (703 Burke Street, Connelly Springs, NC 28612) for a visitation. For her South Carolina friends and family on December 8th from 5:30-8:00 pm at 1111 High Valley Trail, Blythewood, SC 29016.
Becky’s passing leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew her, but her legacy of love and compassion will live on through her family and the countless lives she touched. She will be dearly missed and forever remembered.
