Brian, I am so sorry for your loss, “older than me” brother. I’m not good at expressing words of comfort during times such as these, but please know that you and your family are in my prayers. Although we are biological brothers and adopted separately, living separate lives, we’re still brothers by blood and I know the love you have for your adoptive family. I never had the privilege or honor of meeting your Mom, I do know that she was very well thought of as a teacher and touched thousands of young lives over the course of her career as an educator. Please accept my deepest condolences and sincere Christian sympathy during this dark period in your life. Let her memory be your lantern, to shine a light for your feet on the path you walk in this darkness. I pray for you God’s comfort, peace and understanding. I pray that He will give you strength and encouragement to face each day to come in her absence. I love you, brother.
