Mr. Ralph Warren Mooney, 68, of Morganton, passed away unexpectedly on Monday September 16, 2024 at his residence.
Mr. Mooney was born December 10, 1955 in Surry County, NC, a son of the late James and Dorothy Wall Mooney. He was employed with the State of North Carolina as a programmer for a number of years. Ralph enjoyed fishing in his spare time.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Ann Lee Chilton.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Barbara Ann Marion Mooney, and two daughters, Melissa Sullivan and Sherri Sprangler, a brother, Dewey Mooney (Janie), sister, Mary Frances Johnson (David), a brother-in-law, Kenneth Chilton and the apples of his eye, his grandchildren, Josie and Sky Sullivan.
He was a great kind man. The love he had for his wife was what most women dream of very respectful he was loved and will be missed.
Was a great neighbor. Miss seeing them since I moved. Sending my prayers to Barbara and Missy and Sherry and grandbabies, Sister-in-laws and everyone else that was in Warren life. Heaven gain a Angel
I worked with Warren for 15 years in the NC Department of Corrections. We became very good friends and remained so after retirement. We have been meeting for lunch on a monthly schedule with other retired coworkers of the NCDOC and Warren was a part of this group. He was a great friend and trusted work partner. He will be missed by all who knew him.
