Mrs. Pauline Barber Cannon Shields, 86, of Granite Falls, passed away on Tuesday, May 30, 2023 at Carolina Caring Hospice of Sherrills Ford.
Pauline was born on February 4, 1937 in Caldwell County to the late Carl Cannon and Lula Barber Cannon. She was a member of Mountain Grove Baptist Church and was previously employed in the hosiery industry.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Ruby Bean, Margaret Kimberlin, and Laura Jane Pruitt, and two brothers, J.C. Cannon, and Coy W. Cannon.
Survivors include her husband Cecil H. Shields of the home, one son, Chris Shields and wife Lisa of Granite Falls, and one grandson, Nicholas Shields and fiancé Darby Bagshaw of Wilmington, NC. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 2, 2023 at Baton United Methodist Church, with Rev. Rich Erwin officiating.
The family will receive friends on Friday, from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. at Baton United Methodist Church.
