Mr. Paul Vester Cody, 76, of Valdese, passed away on Thursday, February 15, 2024, at UNC Blue Ridge, after a period of declining health.
Paul was born September 10, 1947, in Catawba County, to the late Clifford Cody and Elsie Ingle Cody. He served honorably in the U.S. Army and took pride in his working career. His leisure time was spent outdoors, especially fishing.
In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by daughter, Bobbie Spurlin; sister, Fern Sigmon and brother-in-law, Wayne Sigmon.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Jo Ellen Mauney Cody; son, Joel Mincey and wife, Martha; daughter, Crystal Loven; sister, Jewel and his loyal canine companion, Farfee.
Funeral services for Paul will be held Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at 2:00 P.M. at Hopewell Baptist Church with Pastor Braden Martin officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends an hour before the service from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. at Hopewell Baptist Church.
