Pansy Watts Hull, 84, of Hickory passed away on Friday, December 22, 2023, at her residence following a period of declining health.
Pansy was born August 30, 1939 in Catawba County to the late Theodore J. Watts and Lovie Crump Watts. She was a member of Bible Baptist Church. She retired from Vanguard Furniture, where she wrote their paper. Pansy enjoyed writing poetry and listening to gospel music; even singing in a gospel group with her sister. Pansy was an independent person that enjoyed the motto, “Depend on yourself before anyone else.”
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Wayne Hull; brothers, Billy Joe Watts, and Jerry Watts; and sisters, Peggy Minton and Hazel Blevins.
She is survived by her children, Mark Hull, Kim Minyard and husband Glen, and Jeff Hull and wife Denise; grandchildren, Natalie Mackey and husband Sam, Christy McGinnis and husband Patrick, Myfawny Ruiz and husband Manny, Caleb Hull and wife Sarah, Courtney Helton and husband Ryan, and Carrigan Hull; and great grandchildren, Kolbin Mackey, Jeremiah McGinnis, Faith McGinnis, Scarlett Ruiz, Dante Ruiz, Gentry Hull, and Nora Helton. Also surviving are her sisters, Betty Smith and husband Ray, Dottie Pierce, and Christine McCall; and caregivers, Barbara Pitts, Marie Duffy, and Jo Boone.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, December 31, 2023 at 3:00 PM at Bible Baptist Church with Pastor Donald Anderson officiating. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
The family will receive friends prior to the service on Sunday from 1:30 PM to 2:45 PM at Bible Baptist Church.
