If humor, love of friends and family and joy could power us, Myra would have lived forever.
My 13th birthday, my first Duran Duran concert, my first Chinese dish, lunch every day in 9th grade, my first detention, New Year’s Eve 1999, the first ribs I ever ate, the time my mom forgot me at church, lol.
Myra was there.
Sometimes someone just makes a real contribution to your life and opens you up to new things in life and how thankful am I to have had Myra in my life for so many firsts, and laughter, and song, and singing out loud like no one was listening.
My mother told me once, “I wish you were more like Myra.” I replied, “I wish I was too.”
To everyone who knew Myra, you knew a friend, a music lover, a food lover, a larger than life figure you always wanted to be around because it was always a good time and you just felt special.
On a personal note, I promised you my friend that I would come and pick you up this year after my schedule slowed down in March. This is one promise I will never fulfill and I will regret it as long as I live and until I see you again.
Say hey to Martha and Maw for me, I love you my friend, until we meet again.

I’m so sorry for your loss. She was a great person who guaranteed you a good laugh! I hadn’t seen Myra in years but she was still part of our family. My mother loved her as well so I’m sure they’re up there just laughing about anything.
You are all in my prayers.
Rest in peace, my sweet cousin. Until we meet again.

Heaven is shining a little brighter as we know that Myra is singing and rejoicing there. Myra had a joy for life that affected everyone around her. I have the best and sweetest memories of Myra at church in the youth group, & hanging out with her and my little sister as they were good friends. I guess my sweetest memory is that she called me, Cissie, just like my siblings. I am praying for all of you, Edna, Lisa, Meah, & Jessie.. I love you all and I love you, Myra ❤️
Myra, you were so special at the Riddle Center that most everyone wanted to be in your class. Your love for children would shine thru each day as your craft skills brought so much joy to all. Rest in peace our special friend.
