Miriam Kay Hawkins Icard, 72, of Lenoir passed away at AMOREM of Hudson on Tuesday, December 17, 2024 following a period of declining health.
Kay was born on September 29, 1952 in McDowell County, a daughter of the late James Cecil Hawkins and Edith Carpenter Page.
In addition to her parents, Kay is preceded in passing by the love of her life, Bruce Calvin Icard, and two sisters, Charlotte Ann Carpenter and Alma Jackie Williams.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Angela Icard, Eva “Nicki” Icard, and George Icard (Kate); grandchildren, Rebecca Williams and husband Brandon, Ashley Triplett (Brandon), Emily Icard, and Basil Icard; greatgrandchildren, Jocellyn and Ember; siblings, Evelyn Carswell (Rocky) and Carron Suddreth (Doug); and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to AMOREM at 902 Kirkwood St. NW, Lenoir, NC 28645 or Koinonia Apartments at (828) 758-2617.
The family will hold a private Memorial Service at a later date.
Heritage Funeral Service and Crematory is assisting the family.
