Mr. Mikel Eugene Carden, Sr., 79, of Connelly Springs, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Monday December 2, 2024, at Wake Forest Baptist University Medical Center, Winston Salem, after a period of declining health.

Mr. Carden was born December 24, 1944, in Carter County, TN, a son of the late Troy and Mae Guinn Carden.  He was a member of Eastside Baptist Church, Newton and retired from the construction industry as a painter.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by daughter, Rachel Merkwa.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Linda Davis Carden of the home, a son, Michael E. Carden, Jr. and wife Tina of Connelly Springs, a daughter, Angela Carden of Lenoir, one brother and four sisters.  Also surviving are his grandchildren, Brittany Carden-Pennell and husband Jonathan, Austin Carden and wife Taylor and Dalton Pearson.

Funeral Services for Mikel Eugene Carden, Sr. will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday December 6,2024 in the Chapel of Heritage Funeral Services, Valdese, with Rev. Don Sigmon officiating. Interment will follow in the Burke Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 1 until 2:00 P.M. Friday at Heritage Funeral Service.
