Mr. Michael Robert Orders, Sr. , 57, of Hildebran passed away Sunday, January 15, 2023 at Carolina Caring in Newton following a period of declining health.
Michael was born September 19, 1965 in Catawba County to the late Robert “Bob” Orders and Barbara Ann Thornborg. He attended Mountain View Baptist Church, and he worked as a diesel mechanic for Catawba County Schools. He loved the water and the beach. He enjoyed riding golf carts. Michael was a very loving and giving person. He loved to work with youth and had a heart for children. He did a great deal of missions work with the Baptist Men and was the President of East Burke Youth. In all he did, he preferred to work in the background- never seeking the spotlight.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in passing by his sister, Sherry Huffman.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Lori Beasley Orders of Hildebran; two sons, Michael Robert Orders, Jr., of Hildebran and John Clifton Orders and wife, Amanda, of Hildebran; a sister, Debbie Allison of Catawba County; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00PM Wednesday, January 18, 2023 at the Chapel of Heritage Funeral Service with Pastor Jeff Brown and Rick Hildebran officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior on Wednesday from 2:00PM to 3:00PM at Heritage Funeral Service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
Mike and Lori, while over seeing the pool at Hildebran hired my daughter as a life guard. It was her first job and they poured love and help to foster her strong work ethic. I am appreciative of their love for her but also the love they gave to Steve and time. We served together in the marriage ministry. . SHMILY my friend. Time is short. 😃

My friend Mike Orders (Mo) has went home to be with the Lord. I am glad to say I knew this man. I had the opportunity to work beside him for 13 years. I seen this man at his best and his worst. The best far out weighed the worst. He was a servant, more for the Lord than anyone. His heart was huge and he always looked for opportunity to do for people. He would absolutely surprise you with the different things he done. There were so many lives touched by him. That’s a goal of a Christian. I will miss Mo…. until we see each other in Heaven. Lori Orders John Orders and Michael Orders, my prayers are with you and I’ll be here for you if you need me. I pray God will hold and comfort you. Love to all…
Sending my sincere condolences to you Lori and the family. God’s plan is bigger than ours. Rest in the memories that Mike left with you. He was always so nice when he would come to check on our buses at Blackburn. Praying God’s peace that passes all understanding for you, Mike Jr., and John.
