Mr. Melvin Bobby Jones, 78, of Connelly Springs, passed away on Monday May 6, 2024, at his residence after a period of declining health.
Mr. Jones was born July 14, 1945, in Yancey County, a son of the late Gaither and Julia Fox Jones. Melvin was a member of Mount Calvary Baptist Church and a hard worker, self employed as a roofer. He enjoyed his free time hunting and fishing.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Verlin Jones.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Artie Lee Miller Jones of the home, two daughters, Bobbie Joe O’Renick and husband J.P. of Granite Falls, Tammy Jones of Icard, two sisters, Mildred Deal, Shirley Yelton and a brother, Roger Jones all of Burnsville. Also surviving are the apples of his eye, his grandchildren, Danielle Miller and husband Joseph, Samantha O’Renick (Tyler Sawyer), Jonathan O’Renick (Taylor White) and great-grandchildren Madyson Miller, Mason Miller, Scarlett O’Renick and a number of nieces and nephews.
A Service of Remembrance will be held at 5:00 P.M. Saturday May 11, 2024, in the Chapel of Heritage Funeral Service, Valdese., with Rev. Curtis Carroll officiating.
The family will receive friends from 4 until 5:00 P.M. Saturday at Heritage Funeral Service, Valdese.

Sorry to hear about Mr jones he put a new roof on our house years ago he will be missed by everyone who knew him and Loved him may he rest in the Arms of Jesus he is at Peace with our Heavely Father Dwight and merita buff
