Mary Frances Stallings Icard, 77, of Valdese, passed away on Sunday, July 23, 2023, at Catawba Valley Medical Center following a period of declining health.
Ms. Icard was born on August 23, 1945, in Cabarrus County, a daughter of the late Jeff Daniel and Ellen Irene Rheinhart Stallings. She loved to make homemade quilts. As a CNA, she enjoyed caring for others during home health visits.
In addition to her parents, Mary is preceded in passing by two brothers, Jimmy Stallings and Floyd Stallings, and a daughter, Rachel Bruner.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 31 years, Ernest Michael “Mike” Icard of the home; three sons, Waylon Thomas of Connelly Springs, Timothy Thomas of Polkville, and Richard Thomas of Polkville; a daughter, Joyce Johnston of Taylorsville; a sister, Martha Kerley of Huntersville; five grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
There will be no services at this time.
