Mrs. Mary Ann Bennett, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and hairstylist passed away on Friday, May 19, 2023 at the age of 79 in her home, surrounded by her loved ones.
Born on the 8th of September, 1943, Mary Ann’s passion for hairstyling bloomed early in her life. She possessed a talent for fixing people’s hair, bringing joy and confidence to all who sat in her chair. She was a successful business owner for 22 years. Mary Ann provided a social hub for the community she lived in and a place of comfort to many, while realizing her dreams.
But Mary Ann’s greatest joy in life was her family. She cherished her role as a wife to Chuck (Charles) and her children Rocky Allen and Maryjane Crystal Manchester (Art) and grandchildren, Arthur Manchester, Alexander and Adam Bennett. She was always approachable and there to listen and provide support to her loved ones. Her warm smile, welcoming arms and loving heart touched everyone she encountered, leaving a lasting impression. Mary leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion. Her memory will forever be treasured by her husband Chuck, son Rocky , daughter, Crystal and those fortunate enough to know her. Mary Ann will be remembered as a loving wife, caring mother and grandmother, beloved member of the community and exceptional hairstylist. She was a constant source of comfort and inspiration to her family and those around her.
In honoring Mary Ann’s life let us celebrate the memories shared and the love she bestowed upon us. May her sprit continue to shine brightly in our hearts and may her legacy remind us to embrace our passions and cherish the bonds of family.

I worked with Mary at Shear Cuts and was the sweetest person you would ever meet. She was also very comical at times and kept us laughing. May the Lord wrap you in His comfort during this time.
Mary was more than hairdresser, she was also a sweet friend. After it became too difficult for her to do my hair, she still would cut Jack’s hair, and would often call & say she had time if he wanted to come on over. When Jack died (Nov. 18, 2021) Mary and Chuck came to the funeral home, which touched my heart. I know how difficult it was for her, physically, to to this. She always showed her love, and I was blessed to have known her.
With love and sympathy to Chuck, Rocky, Crystal and all the family,

My family has been reminiscing and talking about our 1st cousin, Mary Ann. I have memories of playing with my cousins and living near Shelby, Jack, Mary Ann, Bonnie, Kathy and Steve while my Dad, Mary Ann’s Uncle Willie, built our house on the farm.
When Mary Ann and Charles moved to Clemson, we visited them. This gave me the opportunity to see the campus, which I liked very much. I later earned my Master’s and EDS degrees from Clemson after finishing Winthrop.
We would often see Mary Ann and Charles at the Ramah Church Reunions where we talked about our children and families.
We miss our sweet cousin very much and are so pleased that we had the privilege of being part of her Deal family.
