Marilyn Knight North

January 17, 1939 – January 1, 2025

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Marilyn Knight North, affectionately known as “Dee.” Marilyn was a beloved individual, cherished by her family and friends. She was born on January 17, 1939, in Miami, Florida, and left us on January 1, 2025.

Marilyn enjoyed a wonderful joyful life with her horses and other animals but was also worldly in her charitable endeavors.  She supported children across the world, as well as nature conservancies and the protection of animals, including the prevention of cruelty to animals. She founded the Marilyn K. North Foundation to help children and animals alike.

Marilyn is survived by two sisters, four children, five grandchildren, and numerous greatgrandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

A private memorial service will be held on January 17, 2025, at her home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital and/or the Foothills Conservancy of North Carolina.
