Lydia Turner, 86, of Morganton, passed away on Friday, September, 1, 2023 at College Pines Reh. Center, after a period of declining health.
Lydia was born, September 5, 1936, in Brunswick, Ga, a daughter of the late Otis and Beatrice Attaway Sizemore. She attended the Georgia School for the Deaf and attended the Crussell Freeman Church of the Deaf. Lydia was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and homemaker.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl (C.G.) Turner and a son Terry Turner.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Carolena Turner (Rab), Gerry Turner, and the apples of her eye, her grandchildren, Otis Cordell (Kristi Mode), Daisy Cordell, Krissy Cordell, Emma McDaniel (Craig), Noah Turner (Jennifer), Austin Turner; great-grandchildren, Mya, Abbygail, Archie, Santiago, Adrian and Faith; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A Service of Remembrance will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday September 10, 2023 in the Chapel of Heritage Funeral Service, Valdese, with Rev. Kevin Clark officiating. On October 7, 2023 at 1:00 PM a memorial service will be held at Finch- Cochran Funeral Home in McCaysville, GA.
Heritage Funeral Service and Crematory is assisting the Turner family.

Lydia was one of my most favorite people! I am so glad that I was able to get to know her and care for her at College Pines. I love her and will miss her dearly. My prayers are with all of the family.
