Lucy Frances Brewer Howell, 90, of Connelly Springs, passed away on Thursday, July 11, 2024 at her residence following a period of declining health.

Lucy was born May 6, 1934 in Avery County to the late Wallace Brewer and Rose Oakes Brewer. She worked in the hosiery industry until her retirement. Lucy enjoyed playing Bingo, doing crossword puzzles, crotching, watching Lifetime movies, and being around her favorite cat Sadie.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, James Stanford Howell; and numerous brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her children, Linda Tester and husband Ronnie, Wayne Brewer and wife Terri, Bill Brewer and wife Karen, Brenda Howell; and Rick Howell and wife Linda. Also surviving are grandchildren, Angela Howell and husband CJ, Leigh Ann Jackson and husband Mark, Greg Brewer, Marie Harp and husband Justin, Pam Tester, and Carolyn Davis and husband Mike; and numerous loving great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 17, 2024 at 4:00 PM in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Service. Interment will follow at Warlicks Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Service.
