Lloyd Kent “Ken” Anderson, 80, of Hildebran passed away on Sunday, October 29, 2023 at his residence following a period of declining health.
Ken was born January 28, 1943 in Burke County to the late Charles D. Anderson and Marie Jarrett Anderson. The Andersons were long-time members of Warlicks Baptist Church in Connelly Springs, where he often helped with the Handyman Firewood Ministry. Ken was a truck driver from the mid 1960’s and was employed by Gaines ML and Yellow Freight. After a short retirement, he joined Century Furniture as a part-time driver until permanent retirement in late 2021. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially bass fishing, and participated in many tournaments.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Charles Duval Anderson Jr., Jim E. Anderson, and William H. Anderson; and sister, Betty Murray.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Carswell Anderson; sons, Christopher Anderson and wife Kristie of Morganton, Todd Anderson and wife Regina of Glen Alpine, Timothy Anderson and wife Jodie of Catawba, and Thomas Anderson and wife Heather of Granite Falls; daughter, Anita Woods and husband Greg of Hildebran; ten grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his brothers, John D. Anderson of Drexel, and Joseph Douglas Anderson of Glen Alpine; and sisters, Elaine Mosteller and husband Jim of Belmont, and Jean Brutz and husband Nick of Greenville, SC
A funeral service will be held on Friday, November, 3, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Warlicks Baptist Church with Pastor Gary Murry and Rev. John Jolly officiating. Interment will take place in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 2, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Service in Valdese.

Could not have asked for a better brother-in-law. Loved his family. We will miss his wit. He was always up beat even though his pain . Rest in peace.

I couldn’t have asked for a better neighbor. I will miss seeing him zip by on his 4-wheeler. My deepest sympathy to all his loved ones. Remember, it’s not “goodbye”, just “see you later”.
