It is with earthly sadness but heavenly rejoicing that we announce the passing of Linda Faye Carpenter Lowman, a devoted mother, grandmother, and steadfast follower of Christ, who left this world at the home of Randy and Jaimee Lowman following a brief illness peacefully on March 14, 2025, at the age of 79.
Linda was born on June 28, 1945 in Baton, North Carolina, to Howard Randolph and Evia Wilson Carpenter. She grew up in a loving home as the youngest of 10 children and was especially close to her twin sister, Brenda, affectionately known as Cindy. Throughout her life, Linda touched the lives of everyone she met.
As a mother, Linda poured her heart into raising her children, teaching them the importance of faith in God. She is survived by her two children, Kimberly Ollis (spouse Charles) and Randy(spouse Jaimee). Linda’s role as a grandmother or “Nonnie”was one of her greatest joys; she treasured her grandchildren Taylor, Davis, Clarke(spouse Lorian), and Landis. Davis, Clarke, and Landis will always remember her warm home, back rubs by the fireplace, her eye round roasts on Sundays, annual summer beach trips, and games of rummy as they were growing up.
Linda spent the majority of her professional life in the healthcare field. She worked for many years at Valdese Hospital as a unit secretary and CNA until she transitioned to a private duty CNA helping individuals and their family’s care for their loved ones in their home settings. She often shared memories of caring for and interacting with her patients and their families which left a lifelong impact on her heart.
During the last year of her life after the passing of her beloved husband “Nonnie” lived with Randy and Jaimee and spent much cherished time with her son, daughter-in-law, and grandchildren sharing meals, laughter, stories by the fire pit, watching Family Feud in the evenings, and attending church together on Sunday.
Linda’s unwavering faith was brought into almost every conversation she had with others. She had a sincere dedication to her church, Dry Pond’s Baptist Church, which was demonstrated through her devotion to singing in the choir and teaching Sunday school. She loved to sing and listen to music especially on days of dialysis over the last five years when she needed encouragement. Linda spoke often of her Sunday school class even after moving to Winston Salem to live with her son’s family. She loved those ladies.
Linda is preceded in death by her beloved of husband of 59 years Harvey Dennis Lowman and her lifelong best friend and twin, Cindy Boyette.
Randy, Jaimee, and their children would like to say a special note of appreciation to all of the medical professionals and personal work colleagues from Trellis Supportive Care, Right at Home, and AuthoraCare Collective who supported their family throughout the brief period of terminal illness. The family remained strong through your professional knowledge, education, and monitoring so they could rest with you being there whenever they needed you.
A celebration of Linda’s life will be held on March 23, 2025, at the Dry Ponds Baptist Church, with visitation at 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM and service at 2:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Messianic Jewish Alliance Of America (MJAA): https://mjaa.org/donate/.
Heritage Funeral Service and Crematory is assisting the family.

This is the most beautiful obituary I’ve ever read. As I said before my younger life was filled with so many memories at Aunt Linda and Uncle Denny’s home. She is now in Heaven with her loved ones gone before. Love to you guys!
Linda, Brenda and I started first grade together and graduated together. Could not have had better friends.Prayers for the family!
Linda was a treasure to us. Such a beautiful woman who we will miss. She was the most heartfelt woman and we enjoyed every visit with her and Dennis. The best Aunt and Uncle who always made us feel special and loved! Sad for our loss but grateful they are together again in heaven!
