Linda Church Hastings, 75, of Morganton, passed away on Tuesday, May 9, 2023 at UNC Healthcare Blue Ridge following a period of declining health.
Linda was born January 17, 1948 in Watauga County to the late Rufus Church and Pauline Parlier. She attended River of Life Church and was a devoted daughter, mother, and grandmother.
In addition to her father and mother, she is preceded in death by her husband Larry Hastings; brother, Larry Church, and stepbrothers, Michael Burleson, Allen Burleson, and Ray Burleson.
She is survived by her stepmother, Shirley Church; son, Randy Chester and wife Robin, and son Gary Patel; Goddaughter, Bina Patel; stepchildren, Larry Hastings, and Heather Hastings; and grandchildren, Emily Propst and husband Adam, Sarah Chester, Marcus Chester, and Pratham Patel. Also surviving is brother, Tommy Church; great-grandson, Rhett Propst; sister-in-laws, Christine Braidwood, Adene James and husband Bobby, and Connie Hastings; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 13, 2023 at 11:00 AM at River of Life with Pastor Allen King officiating.
The family will receive friends prior to the service on Saturday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at River of Life.
