Lawrence Ray “Larry” Carswell Jr., 69, of Hickory passed away on Friday, October 13, 2023 at Carolina Caring following a period of declining health.

Larry was born June 13, 1954 in Burke County to the late Lawrence Ray Carswell Sr. and Helen Carswell. He worked at Shuford Mills for over thirty years. He enjoyed working on his Mustang and being outdoors working in his yard. He was very loved by many and will be missed dearly.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Tony Carswell.

He is survived by his wife, Rolanda Hildebran Carswell; sons, Joshua Carswell, and Jeremy Carswell; four grandchildren; two greatgrandchildren; brothers, Frank Carswell, Chris Carswell, and Chuck Carswell; and sisters-in-law, Flora Knox and Diane Cook.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Service.
