LaVonda Griffin “Kaye” McGalliard, 82, of Morganton passed away on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at Morganton Long-Term Care following a period of declining health.

Kaye was born September 28, 1942 in Burke County to the late Oliver Griffin and Lucille Rhoney Griffin. She was a member of Morganton Seventh-day Adventist Church and worked as a secretary until her retirement. Kaye was a good momma, grandmother, and loved to read her bible.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers, William Griffin, Ronnie Griffin, and Dusty Griffin.

She is survived by her son, Jeffrey McGalliard and fiancée Brenna McClure; his father, Elgie McGalliard; granddaughter, Keely McGalliard; sisters, Millie Barany, and Cathy Burns and husband Bobby; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, February 4, 2025 at 3:00 PM in the Chapel of Heritage Funeral Service.
