Mr. Larry Lawrence Huffman, 81, of Connelly Springs, passed away on Thursday, April 11, 2024.
Larry was born on August 20, 1942, in Burke County to the late Samuel Huffman and Ruby McNeely Huffman. He was retired from General Electric and was a member of Wilkie’s Grove Baptist Church and was a founding member of the George Hildebran Fire Department.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Gerald Huffman and a brother in-law, Richard Garren.
Surviving is his beloved wife, Dorothy Lynn Huffman of the home; three daughters, Laura Huffman. Donna Roe and husband Thurman, and Rita Norcutt and husband Keith, all of Connelly Springs. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Bonnie Johnston and husband Scott, Paige Richards and husband Ben, Zachary Roe and wife Caitlin, and Hannah Davis and husband Dakota; five great-grandchildren; Jessica Johnston, Jace, Ian and Triss Richards, and Jane Davis, three sisters, Hazel Williams and husband Donald, Barbara Garren, Mary Jo Minton and husband Gary; and a sister in-law, Judy Huffman and a number of beloved, close family and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 15, 2024, at 4:00 P.M. at Wilkie’s Grove Baptist Church, with Rev. Chance Settle, Rev. Thomas Herman and Rev. Jamie Mosteller officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Monday, from 3:00 until 4:00 P.M. at Wilkie’s Grove Baptist Church.

My heart goes out to you all. Larry was a special man to my daughter , nieces, nephew and grand son as the Bestest Bus Driver ever. They would be thrilled to see him out in the community at the store or the school and he would call them by name. I know they will always cherish the memories they have of him. Dear Huffman family I am in total shock this morning. I had no idea Larry had passed. My heart, prayers and love go out to each of you. He was a very special man and the backbone along with Dot to your precious family. I know each of you are heart broken. Our memories of Larry and your entire family are all good memories. Dot, You and Larry were a beautiful Christian team and an example for all of us. Girls, we remember each one of you fondly. Your good attitudes and beautiful smiles are cherished memories. How blessed you were to have this man as your father. Larry made lasting contributions to his church and the George Hildebrand community. He was a true southern gentleman and will be long remembered. May God bless you with with treasured memories!

My and Errol’s prayers continue to be with each member of the family. We went on several mission trips with Larry and I served in WMU with Dot. They are special to us and I ask God to continue to strengthen each member of the family and give them comfort as only He can do. We love each of you!

Dear Dot and Laurie, I know you will miss Larry, each and every day.
