Mr. Larry Eugene Branch, 72, of Morganton, passed away peacefully, with his loving family by his side, on Monday March 18, 2024, at Amorem, Burke Hospice , after a period of declining health.
Mr. Branch was born April 21, 1951, in Burke County, a son of the late Vernon Ray “Buck” Branch and Thelma Mae Sparks Branch. Larry loved to spend time with his family, especially fishing and hunting. He was a member of the Huffman Bridge Hunting and Fishing Club and retired after 34 years of dedicated service as the manager of Wendy’s.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ray Branch.
Surviving are his wife Lisa Byrd Branch of the home, a son Michael Branch and wife Misty of Rutherford College and a sister, Carolyn Powell (Larry) of Morganton, step-children, Doug Woody (Stephanie), of Newton, Misty Perkins of Lenoir, Christopher Woody of Albemarle and sister-in-law, Greta Branch of Raleigh. Also surviving are the apples of his eye, his grandchildren, Kendall Branch, Kole Branch, Taylor Philbeck, Logan Philbeck, Trenton Woody. Alexis Woody, Chloe Woody and nephews, Kenneth Helms, Shane Styles and niece Leslie Dover.
The Branch family will receive friends Saturday March 23, 2024, at 1:00 P.M. at Heritage Funeral Service Valdese. A Graveside Service will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery, Morganton, with Rev. Kenneth Baker officiating.

There are no words to express how much his smile and laughter will be missed. Larry was a chosen family, he always had a story to tell and an infectious laugh that could not help but draw you in. The world will be a dimmer place without the light he brought to it.

Mike, Misty and Family, So sorry to hear of the passing of Larry. I did not know him personally but I will always remember that when Zion Memorial Church had their ham suppers Larry was so generous in donating supplies and helping out in the ways that he could. May God grant to all of you peace and strength in the days and weeks to come. “When a treasure becomes a memory, The memory becomes a treasure.”

I just discovered this obituary a few days ago. I am so sorry to learn of Larry’s death. He was a very nice man and always made others feel good about themselves. He will be missed.
