Kong Phantha, 67, of Morganton, passed away at home on Wednesday, July 17, 2024.

Kong was born June 10, 1957, in Laos, a son of the late Tip Phantha.

He is survived by his wife, Vanh Souitem; children, Song Phantha (Ly Thi “Julie Nguyen) and Nick Phantha (Sandy Souvanhna); granddaughters, Kiara Phantha and Destiny Souvanhna; and grandsons, Dimitri Souvanhna, Adrien Nguyen-Phantha, and Damien Nguyen-Phantha.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2024, at 2:00 PM in the Buddhist tradition. Cremation will follow the service.

The family will hold traditional funeral rites prior to the service that morning.
