Mr. Kenneth “Pappy” Ward Setzer Sr., 77, of Connelly Springs, passed away on Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at his residence.
Kenneth was born on March 24, 1945 in Burke County to the late Clifford Ward Setzer and Carrie Craig Setzer. He was a member of Zion Road Baptist Church, and was a retired press operator with Parker Industries. Kenneth was also retired from the South Mountains Fire & Rescue.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Setzer, and three brothers; Leo Setzer, D.A. Setzer and Charles Setzer.
Surviving are his four children; Kenneth Ward Setzer Jr., Lori Setzer Miller and husband Sean, Jamie Adam Setzer and wife Amanda, Ryan Davis Setzer and wife Christy, all of Connelly Springs. Also surviving are two sisters, Helen Reid and Mary Bumgarner, seven grandchildren; Chassity Smith and husband Michael, Heather Setzer, Kelsey Setzer and fiancé Gavin Goff, Melanie Miller, Amber Setzer, Noah Setzer, and Shelby Setzer, two great-grandchildren, Garrett and Hadley Smith, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel of Heritage Funeral Service with Rev. Micah Piercy officiating. Interment will follow at Wilkies’ Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, from 10:00 till 11:00 A.M. at Heritage Funeral Service in Valdese.
