Mr. Kenneth “Butch” Ray Buff, 77, of Valdese, passed away on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at Autmn Care of Drexel.
Butch was born on October 19, 1947, in Burke County to the late Ransom Grant Buff and Rosa Lee Shidal Buff. He was a retired finisher and associate with Southern Furniture, a member of High Peak Baptist Church, and was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving as a combat engineer with the 25th Infantry Division in Vietnam.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Ronald Grant Buff and Stephen Lynn Buff, one sister, Carlotta Sue Buff and a step grandson, Kane Ragsdale
Surviving is his son, Brian Buff and wife Jamie of Spring Hill, TN three grandchildren: Chase Buff and fiancé Octavia Peete, Parker Buff and Skylar Buff, and one great-grandchild, Harper Buff. Also surviving are three brothers, Jerry Wayne Buff and wife Shirley, Russell Buff and wife Debbie, and Paul Richard Buff, and one sister, Dorothy Chapman.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, February 2, 2025, at 3:00 P.M. at High Peak Baptist Church, with Rev. Shane Ramsey officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with military honors provided by the N.C. National Guard.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, from 2:00 until 3:00 P.M. at High Peak Baptist Church.

Back in the day we had a lot of fun at the Texaco Station his family ran. Butch had a 1969 Nove 396 engine. He would spin all the way across the parking lot …wide open. Those were the Days…. Trust Jesus Christ as Savior so we can keep the good times going…..STEVE DAVIS … FRIEND

Worked with Butch for about 30 years at the old Impact Furniture he was a good guy. Rest in peace old friend.
