Kenneth Daley Weeks, 84, of Valdese, passed away Monday, May 5, 2025.  Born March 4th, 1941, he was a native of Rutherford County and the son of the late Adam Alexander Weeks and Laura Jane Goforth Weeks.

Kenneth is survived by his three children, Christine Weeks Heishman (Stuart), Ronald Weeks (Diane), and Kimberli Weeks; grandchild Jason Heishman; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Spencer Weeks and Johnny Weeks and his sister Gale Weeks Hurt.

Kenneth attended Mount Vernon School, where he began playing high school basketball for coach Ken Griffin, who remained a great inspiration to him throughout his life.  Kenneth attended Western Carolina University, then earned a Forestry degree from the University of Georgia.  He continued his joy of basketball throughout his education and beyond, to win several awards in the Drexel Community Center leagues.

Kenneth worked as an Engineer at Drexel Heritage Furniture for 28 years.  Bill Parks, his boss, was another important mentor in his life. His work, colleagues, and employees meant the world to him; he always fondly remembered that time. He was a loyal member of the Moose Lodge for over 50 years and enjoyed many happy times with his family and friends there.

Ken was a fun-loving, generous man who loved cooking, smoking meats, frying fish, and hosting great meals. He enjoyed gardening, playing horseshoes, and tinkering with classic cars. His greatest passion outside was fishing! He raised his family by the rivers and lakes of this area—his later adventures at Santee Cooper, near Charleston, SC, brought him some incredible catfish and wonderful memories.
