Justin Flay Pruitt, 37, of Casar, North Carolina, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, July 24, 2023.
Mr. Pruitt was born on April 18, 1986, in Burke county, a son of Ronnie and Tamila Barrett Pruitt. Justin had a passion for cooking, becoming recognized as an accomplished chef. He enjoyed fishing in his spare time and recently was learning the skill of blacksmithing to add to his list of hobbies.
Justin was known to have a tough exterior but underneath that shell was a man who cared deeply and loved passionately.
He is preceded in passing by his grandfathers, Bobby Barrett and Ralph Lee Pruitt.
Those left to cherish his memory include his parents; a sister, Nicole Pruitt; two grandmothers, Linda Walls Barrett and Carolyn Pruitt; and uncles, Robert Barrett and wife Sandra, Charles Barrett and wife Chasity, Tommy Pruitt and wife Karen, and Jason Pruitt and wife Maranda; many cousins and countless friends.
The family will hold a memorial service at Bible Gospel Baptist Church on Saturday, July 29, 2023 at 12 PM with Pastor Matt Holman and Rev. Tim Dockery officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Bible Gospel Baptist Church on Saturday, July 29, 2023, from 11 AM to 12 PM.

Ronnie, Tammy, and family, we are so sorry to hear of Justin’s passing. He was always a great little boy on my school bus. He always listened and behaved really great.
