June Carolyn Ramsey Cook, 76, of Hildebran, passed away on Monday, December 25, 2023 at her residence, following a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
June was born December 9, 1947 in Burke County to the late Rev. Glenn A. Ramsey Jr. and Faye Walsh Ramsey. She loved Christmas and Thanksgiving because it gave her precious time with her family. She enjoyed taking care of the neighborhood animals, domesticated or wild; she loved them all. June loved reading and taking care of her family; known as the “Chex-Mix Queen” for the holidays, feeding her family brought her great joy. She was happiest when surrounded by her family.
She is survived by her husband, Michael Anthony Cook; children, Angelia Harris Bedford and Tony Marvin Harris Jr. and wife Stacy De Witte; grandchildren, Jeffrey Todd Bedford and Lauren Sandrine Harris; sister, Gail Ramsey Bordner; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Burke County at https://burkecountyfriends4animals.org/
Heritage Funeral Service and Crematory in Valdese is assisting the family.
