Judy Lynn McCracken Lackey, 59, of Valdese passed away on Monday, December 12, 2022 at Autumn Care of Drexel following a period of declining health.
Judy was born May 29, 1963, in Tokyo Japan, to the late Walter Furman McCracken and Etrulia Mills McCracken. She enjoyed bowling, playing softball, and going to the beach; but most of all she loved spending time with her family – especially her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two brothers, Robin Keith McCracken and Walter Furman “Bo” McCracken.
She is survived by her husband, Michael Lackey; son, Jason Edward McCracken; stepson, Willard Douglas Lackey and wife Tamara, step-daughter, April Dawn Ray and husband John, brother, Richard Avery McCracken and wife Tammy; and three sisters, Donna Lee Marsten and husband Jeff, Marilyn Marie Owens; and Barbara Jean Pope and husband Keith. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Autumn Marie McCracken, Ethan Lackey, Hannah Lackey, Kailey Ray, and Devin Ray; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 17, 2022 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Heritage Funeral Service with Rev. David Bridges officiating. Interment will follow at Burke Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends on Saturday prior to the service from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Heritage Funeral Service.
Heritage Funeral Service and Crematory in Valdese is assisting the family.
Over the past 8 years after my dad(Robin) passed. I got closer to my aunt. She was an amazing woman and will be missed by so many. I love you aunt Judy. To my family I love you so much.
