Mrs. Judy Lee Franklin Lail, 74, of Connelly Springs, passed away surrounded by her loved ones on Thursday, March 23, 2023 at her residence, following a period of declining health.
Judy was born on December 9, 1948 in Burke County to the late Ralph Franklin and Eva Seagle Franklin. She was a member of Connelly Springs First Baptist Church and was retired from Hickory Hill Furniture. Judy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed being outdoors, gardening, cooking and church music. Her family was most important to her, and she would go out of her way to help anyone in need.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Randy Lail, and four siblings; Leeroy Franklin, Dolly Lambert, Billy Franklin and Dianne Franklin.
Survivors include her husband, Gary Dean Lail of the home, and one daughter, Karen Vines and husband Thomas Vines of Connelly Springs. Also surviving are six grandchildren; Brittany Vines, Jeffrey Lail, Christopher Lail, Nick Vines, Kaitlyn Lail and Sam Vines, four great-grandchildren; Hailey Barnes, Sophie Barnes, Aiden Barnes and Alaya Minton, and two sisters, Sherry Greene and Delene Franklin, and numerous niece and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 28, 2023 at 4:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Heritage Funeral Service with Rev. Danny Townsend officiating. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, from 3:00 until 4:00 P.M. at Heritage Funeral Service in Valdese.

My name is melissa I have known judy lail for 40 years or more and I just want to say they dont come no better than judy she was a wonderful lady with a big heart and a kind soul my sister cynthia was married to Judy’s son randy I wanted to say that I will miss her terribly and I will keep her memory safe in my heart and think of her often and I would like to send many thoughts and prayers to family and friends that were blessed to know her and may she rest in eternal peace 💐
