Mr. Joseph Patrick Fox, Jr., 93, of Valdese, passed away on Wednesday February 15, 2023 at UNC Healthcare, Morganton, after a period of declining health.
Mr. Fox was born April 7, 1929, in Newark, NJ, a son of the late Joseph Patrick, Sr. and Anna Hasko Fox. Joe served his country as a veteran of the US Army and retired as a carpenter and general contractor. He built and restored a number of homes in the Valdese area. Mr. Fox has a good reputation as an honest and fair carpenter.
Surviving are his wife, Diane Dorrington Fox of the home, his children, John Muldoon Kennedy, Jr and wife Cindy of Surf City, NC, Nancy Fox Barberi of Egg Harbor City, NJ, Earl Ruby Shutz of Valdese and George Anthony Shutz and wife Julia of Tuckerton, NJ. Also surviving are a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and special nephew Tommy Fox.
A Funeral Mass will be held Monday February 20, 2023 at 12:00 PM in St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, Morganton with Father Kenneth Whittington officiating.
